Love Never Fails

by Clayton Hurst

Monday, October 31, 2011
A few years ago my wife and I were standing in the hallway of a church talking about some upcoming events. I will have to admit that I was being a little 'short' with her when she was asking me questions. However, in my defense, she was asking a lot of questions.
Just a few moments went by and one of our faithful volunteers came by and asked me the exact same question that my wife had just asked not 5 minutes earlier. I mean down to the exact placement of the words. Well, being the man of grace and love that I am, I began to gently answer with an abundance of details. Some 15 minutes pass and the volunteer thanked me and turned around and walked away. Thinking back now, I should have walked away with her. When I turned to continue my conversation with my wife, she wasn't really happy with me. She said, 'Why did you go to such great length and have such grace in answering their questions but you didn't do that with me?' I had shown love and grace to this volunteer but not to wife. That was a hard but valuable lesson to learn that day.
1 Corinthians 13:8 says, 'Love never fails!' We should always respond with love and grace because it is always the right way. It will never fail you in life or in a conversation.
That day, years ago, God showed me the importance of treating everyone with love and grace… especially with the ones that are the closest to me!

Back to the Bible Truth

Did you know that it is in USA public schools that children/ students are not allowed to pray to Almighty God in the name of Jesus Christ before their food, before taking Exams or tests? In this country that was once great is the abomination come! Do you remember how Britain was once great? It used to be called Great Britain! We laughed when (I think Archbishop William Carey) said musingly Great Britain in 1998 in Harare, Zimbabwe for the World Council of Churches.

You can do everything else in these public schools and pray to anyone BUT not allowed to pray to Almighty God in the name of Jesus. "10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." (Ephesians 6)
People of God, we have to go back to the Upper Room and wait for the in filling of the Holy Spirit so that we may have power from the Spirit of Power, overcome confusion from the Spirit of Sound Mind, and Love from the Spirit of love, to tackle these powers and authorities operating among people and among our leaders in positions of power and authority.

People of God, strive for excellence so that we may aspire for these public offices and thus influence our communities. You are here for a purpose. You have a mission to carry out from the Most High God. We are salt to preserve this stale world. We are light to light up the darkness of this world. You cannot have light and keep it under a bushel or under the bed hiding it. you put it on a mountain, on top of a hill so that you may see around you and those around you may see their way.
‎"14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." Ephesians 6

New Vision
Church speaks out on Kabaka's son
Publish Date: Jan 25, 2012

  • Kabaka Mutebi and prince Semakookiro
    By Norman Katende

The Church of Uganda is non-committal on whether the Kabaka, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, is still free to receive Holy Communion after siring a child out of wedlock. Senior Church of Uganda clerics at the Provincial Office, Namirembe Diocese as well as Namirembe Cathedral, who were interviewed yesterday, said it was not within their mandate to say whether the Kabaka can still receive the Holy Communion or Holy Eucharist.

Under the Anglican faith, the Holy Communion or Holy Eucharist is the sacrament commanded by Christ for the continued remembrance of his life, death and resurrection, until his coming again. Only those who have repented their sins are
eligible to partake of the Holy Communion. Both Catholic and Anglican churches bar openly polygamous men from receiving Holy Communion.

The Kabaka wedded Sylvia Nagginda Luswata at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Namirembe in 1999. However, the Katikkiro of Buganda Eng. J.B. Walusimbi last week announced that the Kabaka had been blessed with a baby boy, Prince Richard Ssemakookiro. Revealing that the baby was born in July last year, the Katikkiro, however, didn’t identity the baby’s mother. He only indicated she belonged to the Nsenene (grasshopper) clan.

However, investigations by New Vision have since revealed that the baby’s mother is called Rose Nansikombi, a daughter of Ssalongo George Edward Sserebe and Nnalongo Christine Nalubanjwa of Bamunanika, Luwero. Rev. Can. Dr. Alison Barfoot, the director of Communications in the Provincial Church of Uganda, said matters relating to the Kabaka were not for the Archbishop or the Provincial office, but for Namirembe Diocese.

“That (matter) is not under the jurisdiction of the province. You have to contact the diocesan secretary,” said Allison.
On his part, the Diocesan secretary Rev. Can. Nelson Kawesa, said it was not within his mandate to comment on the Kabaka. Instead he referred New Vision to Namirembe Cathedral where Kabaka’s wedding was held.

“That is a liturgical matter which is not under my mandate. I only deal with the administrative issues in the diocese. You should refer that to the cathedral where he was wed,” said Kaweesa. But the assistant Vicar of Namirembe cathedral, Rev. David Sekiziyivu equally distanced himself from the issue, saying the person to talk about it is the retired Archbishop Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo.

“That is a tricky issue which I cannot comment about. The best person to comment about it is the retired Archbishop (Nkoyoyo) who presided over their wedding,” Sekiziyivu said. Nkoyoyo earlier was quoted saying he wouldn’t comment about the matter.

“I am the one who wed them and I cannot comment about it,” said Nkoyoyo when the news broke out that the Kabaka had been blessed with a baby boy.

New Vision’s sister paper, Bukedde quoted retired Bishop of Mukono Diocese Rt. Rev. Paul Luzinda saying that the Kabaka had committed a sin and should repent for what he had done.

Heidi Klum and Seal divorce: Singer emerges with his wedding ring still on | Mail Online

Many men mean good. they are successful businessmen. Yet they are very angry men behind closed doors. Yet they are very uncomprising men behind the scenes. Yet they are very violent men behind closed doors. Yet they have violent tempers behind closed doors. Yet the answer to no one behind the scenes. Many are as sweet as honey outside their homes, but devils inside their homes. Many have got married for the sparks and the public image, yet do not commit, do not respect and love their wives apart from having sex. And sooner or later, that public image implodes from within. And the more they don't look or seek for help, especially from God fearing people, the more they are consumed in their anger and violence. I don't know Seal personally and this may not apply to him. This is a cross section. Seal and Heidi both need our prayers as well as their children.

Evangelist R.W. Schambach Passes at 85

Evangelist R.W. Schambach Passes at 85

I am sad to know this that Bro. Shambach has passed on. Yet I am glad that he has carried on his work and commission well. He has led many people to freedom and healing in the name of Jesus. I received two of his books in 2005 from TBN. But I got to really read them in 2009 and realised the power of God that was upon him. My faith had a turning point in faith healing and miracles. Rest in peace. Looking forward to meeting him in Heaven in glory. He has run his race and reached the goal. May God raise as many to walk in his shoes, including me.

10 things you should pay more for - shopping & spending - MSN Money

Great ideas. Cheap is sometimes expensive and expensive is sometimes cheap in the long run. Ask God for discernment on how you spend your money. Remember that this money is yours to manage as a manager or steward for God's investment.

Ugandans usher in New Year in style - National |monitor.co.ug

Ugandans usher in New Year in style - National |monitor.co.ug

Ugandan Christians kick out, pray out those corrupt public officials and others. Even those hiding in churches like wolves in sheepskin. you know them. If you don't ask God to reveal them to you. Alienate them. When they are out of office, then pray for their deliverance. Jesus got a whip and chased out all those corrupt business men in the temple of God at Jerusalem. Do not handle them with kid's glove for you will have to answer to God what you did and what you did not when yo had a chance to do so. Ezekiel 33 and 34

Merry Christmas 2011 and A Happy and Prosperous 2012

Belated Merry Christmas 2011

It is never late to wish you a merry Christmas even though it looks like it passed. The message is still the same. The results still the same. Mary, young, unmarried, inexperienced, yet betrothed, engaged to Joseph, got pregnant with Jesus. This was a very strange situation that could even end in death for her. God works mysteriously and He is Lord of everything. How could a young virgin woman become pregnant without ever sexually knowing a a man? And how could just a woman be chosen to bear Jesus, God's own Son? Only a woman who did not amount to much in this culture and society! Jewish men prayed in the temple and thanked God for not making them a woman! Indeed God has a sense of humour!

“34 How will this be, Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin?
35 The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.
37 For nothing is impossible with God.
38 I am the Lord's servant, Mary answered. May it be to me as you have said. Then the angel left her.” (Luke 1)

Do you trust God to do the unnatural in your life or you are still waiting on the status quo?
Don't you think that if Mary had not been obedient to God's angel she would have missed the chance to be blessed among women? Luke 1:46-55

Do you have missed opportunities in you life by not being obedient to the angels God has sent your way?
This is the time to trust God and obey His messengers. Do not let opportunities pass you by just because they don't fit what you know, what you are used to or what you think. Do not be bound down by the created natural or physical principles that the Creator created. For the Creator can change the creation. The Potter can change the pottery. For God is still Sovereign, the LORD of lords, the King of kings, the LORD Almighty, the Great I AM, Alpha and Omega, has no beginning no end. There is still nothing impossible with God.

And A Happy and Prosperous 2012

As we usher in 2012 let us look at another young virgin woman, Hadassah, Mordecai's cousin, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother. This girl, who was also known as Esther, was lovely in form and features, and Mordecai had taken her as his own daughter when her father and mother died.
When the king's order and edict had been proclaimed, many girls were brought to the citadel of Susa and put under the care of Hegai. Esther also was taken to the king's palace and entrusted to Hegai, who had charge of the harem.
Esther had not revealed her nationality and family background, because Mordecai had forbidden her to do so.
Every day he walked to and fro near the courtyard of the harem to find out how Esther was and what was happening to her.
When the turn came for Esther (the girl Mordecai had adopted, the daughter of his uncle Abihail) to go to the king, she asked for nothing other than what Hegai, the king's eunuch who was in charge of the harem, suggested. And Esther won the favour of everyone who saw her.
Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favour and approval more than any of the other virgins. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.
And the king gave a great banquet, Esther's banquet, for all his nobles and officials. He proclaimed a holiday throughout the provinces and distributed gifts with royal liberality.
But Esther had kept secret her family background and nationality just as Mordecai had told her to do, for she continued to follow Mordecai's instructions as she had done when he was bringing her up. (Esther 2)

Do you use wisdom in your daily deliberations? Do you use discretion with whoever you deal with? Do you have to say everything about you especially in this age of digital and permanent information? Do you liberally splash yourself in the digital age or are you conservative? Do you ever think about your being wherever you are in time as a divine appointment? Do you respect and obey those whom God has put in your life over you? These may be blood relatives. They may be non relatives like Hegai, the eunuch. Do you see beyond the visible inabilities or physical inabilities of those God has put charge over you? Esther could have chosen to be disobedient, but she did not. My Sister, my Brother, these are the times when to be obedient is out of fashion, yet disobedience is the normal.

This is your Year for just one night with the King that can change everything in your life from little to more. However, one night with the King took preparation of more than one night, but years in the making, just like Queen Esther.

All is not lost, if you haven't been obedient, begin from today, now.
Whoever has been in your life and is in your life is for your preparation. Humility is a part of obedience. Obedience is a key to a wholly prosperous and long life.

Welcome into 2012. God bless you as you obey.

Rev. Jessica Nakawombe
